Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Topping:
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden. The chicken does not need to be fully cooked. Transfer it to the prepared baking dish.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Pour the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce evenly over the chicken.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top, then finish with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and golden.
- For extra browning, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end, watching carefully.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot.
