Ultimate Homemade Banana Milkshake
Yield: 2 servings Prep time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
-
2 large ripe bananas (1 ½ for blending, ½ sliced for the garnish)
-
1 cup whole milk
-
3 to 4 large scoops vanilla ice cream (for that thick, diner-style texture)
-
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
-
â…› teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1 tablespoon honey, agave, or simple syrup (optional, to match the extra liquid shown in the prep photo)
-
Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
-
Prep the Bananas: Peel the bananas. Break one and a half bananas into chunks for the blender. Slice the remaining half into thin coins and set them aside to use as a garnish later.
-
Combine Ingredients: In your blender, add the whole milk first (this helps the blender run smoothly), followed by the banana chunks, vanilla ice cream, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and your sweetener if using.
-
Blend Until Smooth: Secure the blender lid and blend on high for about 30 to 45 seconds. You want the mixture to be completely smooth, creamy, and free of any large banana chunks.
-
Pour and Serve: Divide the blended milkshake evenly between two tall glasses.
-
Garnish: Top each glass generously with whipped cream and gently place the reserved banana slices on top of the whipped cream. Serve immediately while cold!
