Total Time: 45–50 minutes
Servings: 4
🥬 Ingredients
- 1 large green cabbage
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Remove any damaged outer cabbage leaves. Slice the cabbage into ¾-inch thick steaks, keeping the core intact so the slices hold together.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Arrange the cabbage steaks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Brush both sides generously with the seasoned butter mixture.
- Roast for 20 minutes, then carefully flip each steak and roast for another 10 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and top each cabbage steak with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Return to the oven for 5–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
💡 Optional Add-Ins
- Crumbled cooked bacon
- Red pepper flakes for heat
- Fresh thyme or rosemary
- Everything bagel seasoning
